Dr. Scott Polo graduated from Cornell University in 1989 with a bachelor’s
degree in Chemistry. Four years of pharmaceutical research at Merck provided a
solid medical foundation for attending the University of Pennsylvania School of
Veterinary Medicine, from which Dr. Polo graduated cum laude (with
honors) in 1997.
Since that time,
Dr. Polo has served the South Jersey community’s veterinary needs. Dogs, cats,
ferrets, rabbits, birds, reptiles, foxes, hedgehogs, and a variety of rodent
species have benefited from his care in private practice. Lions, tigers, and a
wide variety of other zoo animals have benefited from his care at the Cape May
County Park Zoo since early 1998.
With the start
of the New Year comes new opportunity – Polo Veterinary Services assumes the
ownership of Berlin Township Animal Clinic and Dr. Polo joins the staff as its
Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director. West Berlin, Marlton, Voorhees,
and the surrounding communities can now take advantage of his experience in
preventive care, medical, surgical, and cancer treatments, and his experience
treating the “unusual” pets that many other veterinarians avoid!
Dr. Polo and his
family reside in Sicklerville. Also sharing their home is Chance, a Galgo
(Spanish greyhound) from the Scooby Galgo Rescue in Spain (via the National
Greyhound Adoption Program); Breeze, an ex-racing Greyhound also via NGAP; and
Squeaker, a (formerly stray) cat that quietly adopted the Polos, ensuring
herself a warm bed to sleep in.
